I’ve been Stumble Scammed

I was recently asked to ‘share’ a post with all my friends, it was entitled, “AMBER ALERT: NEW Damian Paul Duncan 11 MISSING TN 7/8/09″ (web page image on the left).
So I thought that’s a good cause, I shall. So I did!
Then I start getting some complaints back from my Stumble friends.
Asking why I am sharing such rubbish, etc. But the web age associated with the ‘complaint’ was a page I didn’t recognise. I simply replied, “I didn’t share this…sorry”
Then I receive a few more. I was confused.
Than I received some who were ‘un-friending” me!
Then it clicked!
My only recent share was the “Missing Person” website.
I re-looked at my Stumble Favourites and there it was in black and white!
I had shared some ‘spammy’ rubbish.
So apologies to everyone.
But if you receive a similar request, check that it is genuine.
I have written to StumbleUpon to let them know.
I have truly enjoyed all the positive messages. They are a wonderful resource of tools and information that often inspire me to create and develop additional workshops in my own business.

I had a request to submit a post, so I did. Seemed normal enough, if a little heavy on the adverts. Once I sent it to my friends the content was changed to porn. Made me look like an idiot to my SU friends.
Gotta keep our eyes open for anything!

It is horrible that these things happen… but it truly upsets me because the story about Damien is true. He was missing for over 48 hrs. Apparently the 11 yr. old ran away from home. He was found with some bruises, scratches and poison ivy.
It really is a shame that someone took a story of a missing child and your kindness in wanting to spread the word and turn it into a scam.

I am constantly browsing your blogs and I find it very friendly and got some great tips. I just hope you could outdo the said missing stuff you made. People do commit mistakes without knowing. I truly am amazed by your acceptance and I do have some respect on you professionally speaking. You see I commented on the other pages you have here and got to know you and you did a great job informing us on each topic you have posted.
