Style - Making Sense of Colour
If you know how to wear colour, you look more interesting and in control. Colour has the power to make you look healthy or ill, interesting or bland, tall or short. My clients are always amazed at how colours can transform the way they look and feel.

Colour plays a huge part in the first impression you create. Here are some pointers beyond the black and white of colours to help you project your desired image:

Red: Associated with power, passion and attention, red will definitely make you stand out from the crowd. Use it once in a while to make a statement. A tricky colour to wear so make sure the undertone is right for you. Avoid the cliché of teaming a plain red tie with a white shirt and a plain black suit - it looks mundane. Fire up your wardrobe with either a stripy or a checked red shirt.

Pink / Peach:Pink shirts have overtaken white and blue shirts in the style stake.  Peach and pink project your upbeat attitude and sympathetic nature. Wearing a pale pink or peach shirt can show a lack of willpower and can drain your colouring, so make sure you wear it with a tie in a contrasting colour, or go for a medium pink shirt.

Black: When worn properly, black is authoritative and sophisticated. It has a strong impact yet it can give you an impression of being unapproachable if worn from head to toe. So use it with care, especially if you work with children or older people. To make black look elegant, choose only good quality fabrics or the result will be disappointing. Contrary to popular belief, black isn't the catch-all colour. When choosing a business suit, dark grey, dark chocolate and navy blue are infinitely more sophisticated than a plain black suit.

Green:
Calm and diplomatic, green clothes are relaxing and show you have an observant attitude and are good at finding peaceful solutions.

Brown: If you like brown, you know how to appreciate the good things in life - food, drink and company. Brown clothing suggests honesty and warm-heartedness. Dark chocolate looks classy and very stylish. An all-brown outfit will look dull, however. Try mixing brown with blue, lilac or mint green.

White: Optimistic, fresh and clean. Pure white can be uplifting or draining, depending on your natural colouring. There are warm and cool shades of white: find one that suits you and your skin will look bright and healthy. In business, wear white if you prefer to be unnoticed. Choose other colours if you want to stand out from the crowd.
