I Stepped On The Scales Today...I Was Shocked

Did you enjoy your break?
I did, mine.
Relaxing, eating, watching TV, family time, eating, reading, blogging, eating,
seeing friends, eating....
Can you see a pattern?
Yep, that's right - eating!
I love it and all the 'bad' stuff - cakes, mice pies, stollen, chocolate log,
pate, cheese - all in abundance!
Now the break is over, I decided to weigh myself.
I was shocked! In fact so shocked I decided to go public - hence this blog
post.
I now weight...wait for it...88.2kg.

Similar to mine, but it isn't (honest!)
I cannot believe it. That is the most ever and it happened over the last couple
of months. It wasn't that long ago I video'd myself saying how much I had
lost...you can see the video here.
So, yes I am a little bit ashamed for getting so big. A few of my clothes were
getting tight but I thought it's Christmas. It doesn't matter - enjoy it. (And
I did!).
My aim is to lose 1kg a week for the next 13 weeks.
Then I'll be a slim 75kg and I'll have a new wardrobe.
So today, I have written myself an exercise-training plan. My wife and I already
play badminton and attend a Ballroom/Latin dance class, once a week.
I now plan to exercise everyday for at least 30 minutes.
I shall minimise my 'sweet' intake. This is my downfall - I just love sweet
things and left over from Christmas we have 2 tins of biscuits, 3 boxes of
chocolates, 2 Christmas puddings and 3 boxes of mince pies. I shall have to be
very strict with myself.
Anyone got some other ideas I can use?
I'll keep you posted on my progress. Now going to do 20 minutes on the exercise
bike...honest!

I have been there. What really amazed me was that my self-image was so deluded during the long period of weight gain. I simply did not see what the mirror reflected.
I overcame the gain, but it left me with wondering what other aspects of my self-image are similarly delude....keeping my eye out for them... blessings to you and all you hold dear, CG |

I certainly have been ignoring what the mirror reflected (and what my clothes were telling me).
Just finished 20 minutes on the exercise bike and feel good! Thanks for commenting and your blessings. Andrew |

I use a program called Sparkpeople.com, it's free, but helps you track your food and gives you meal plans if you'd like them. It tells you how many calories you should eat for how many calories you're burning each week. It's amazing. Check it out.

I'm waiting for the kids to go back to school so I can throw out a lot of the sweets and try out the new Wii Fit Santa left us.

Anne-Marie,
We have the wii-fit - it is excellent. I'm a little 'obese' man figure! Andrew |

Andrew,
I am suffering from growing pains. I have a post with 10 invitational approaches to a healthy physical self on this for Tuesday at Joyful Jubilant Learning...their theme the whole month is eating or lack of eating! David |

The mirror can be a great ally if we're willing to take a look! Good post Andrew, and kudos to CG.
