New Years Resolution Articles 31 Dec 2007

This week I wanted to follow-up on my recent posting, Happy with your 2007? Will your 2008 be better?  and share some great postings I have come across to help 2008 be your best year ever.

So what are you planning to better in 2008?

For example:

Career:

What level do you want to reach in your career?

Do you want promotion?

Do you want to start your own business?

Do you want a new job?

Personal Development:

Is there any new knowledge you want to acquire?

What are your strengths and how are you going to exploit them in 2008?

What information and skills will you need to achieve your plans?

Family:

How do you want to be seen by a partner or by members of your extended family?

Are you going to make the effort and visit family members a lot more?

Finances:

How much do you want to earn by what stage?

How much debt are you going to remove in your life?

How much do you want to save in 2008?

Health / Appearance:

Do you want to put on weight, loose a little?

Do you want to have a new 'wardrobe'?

Do you want to eat healthier?

Fun:

How do you want to enjoy yourself?

Giving something back:

Do you want to make the world a better place? If so, how?

Need Help To Decide?

Need some help to decide which topics to cover?

Here are 20 questions to help you set New Year's Resolutions. Clearly knowing what you want will give you a stronger chance of success for the year.

So now you know what you want to achieve, you need to ensure you have maximum chance of success. Over at Lifehack.org there is a great posting on making yourself a success in 2008. I use these tips and they work, especially the 'make it public' one. Will they work for you?

If you want to specifically improve your career, have a look at the Career Counselor's recent posting, Improve Your Career and Boost Happiness. The posting shares some great advice about 'giving to others'.

So you now have your resolutions in place. You may  need some tools to help. This article has some great free tools available which will help you track your 2008 goals.

To finish off, I love to read and at Life Optimizer, Donald shares his top 10 books he has read in 2007 and they cover practically all aspects of our life, from finding purpose, improving reading skill, and getting the most out of relationships. Personally, I am going to read the 4 hour workweek, next.

Hi Andrew, thanks for the mention.

I think it's a good set of questions to ask for 2008. Certainly, I agree that we have to balance difference aspects of life in goals setting as well.

Hope that your blog will reach more readers in 2008.

Happy New Year and have a great year ahead!
