Does This Irritate You? It Does Me.

My wife and I enjoyed a few days away at Bournemouth, at the weekend.
We booked into a hotel overlooking the sea. Room and hotel were perfect. We had a relaxing and great time together.
As we were walking around the streets of Bournemouth, we came across a fantastic looking Hair Stylists. My hair needed a cut, so spontaneously we went in.
The place looked great – all modern, fashionable and lively. I thought this is going to be a great experience. Don’t worry about the money – just enjoy the experience.
The ‘receptionist’ welcomed me – or at least tried to. She looked up from the magazine she was reading. Just stared straight as me – expressionless.
I said ‘Smile’. She didn’t – in fact I am sure she made herself look even grumpier. Now I don’t know what sort of morning she had experienced. But I do know it is easy to smile and it costs nothing.
My wife and I walked out. If someone can’t be bothered to smile and welcome a prospective customer, I do wonder what the actual service will be like.
We found another hair stylists and did get a smile and received a great haircut.
I do wish individuals would welcome their customers with a smile.
Have you experience something similar?
What has been your reaction?

Muhamad,
Thanks for taking the time out to comment - really appreciate that. And a smile costs nothing and makes you and the 'receiver' feel good! Andrew |
