    It's Not Pointless...It's Plentiful

Have you ever had a funny little "thing" happen, and your first thought was, "That could be a good little story!" So, you add it to your story file... and then you never end up doing anything with it!

What do you think is the biggest problem with emerging speakers?

The Life Lesson for Your Presentation

Ever have someone tell you, "You've got broccoli in your teeth!" ? Or pointed to the toilet paper stuck to your shoe? Embarrassing, but aren't you glad they told you?

We can be so thankful when someone saves us from further embarrassment. As presenters, why do we take presentation feedback so personally, especially when people are really trying to help?

What are you competitive at? What are you really trying to do? Is your focus on "the winning" or on being your personal best?

Wish you were funnier? Do you ever re-listen to those learning programs you have on your shelf?  As a constant student, I'm always learning from people who are experts in their fields. I just reviewed a tele-seminar I did with Judy Carter awhile back, and I was re-inspired by her story of how she persisted at the beginning of her stand-up career.

Don't you just feel the tension while waiting on line at the post office this time of year?

The other day I was standing in line at the post office and I heard a customer ask, "Will this get there by Christmas?" The man behind the counter answered, "By THIS Christmas?"

With those three words I smiled and realized that, unknowingly, he "got it."

There is so much to this story -- so many lessons in it.

Most speakers will spend hours and hours preparing their presentation and rarely take the time to prepare their mindset just before they step in front of an audience. This is true whether it is a formal presentation, a one-on-one sales call, or even an interview.

    Are You Cheating Your Audience?

    Are you cheating your audience?

Here's the situation... You're asked to give several sessions during a conference. You have different topics, but like most professional speakers, you you use some of the same stories when you speak about those different topics. Your first presentation is a special "pre-conference workshop," so only about half of conference attendees will be there.

    What do you do?

You Give It, But Do You Take It?

    This amazed me...

Do you focus on him? Or her?

Have you ever been on stage and looked out in the audience to see a woman in the second row grinning from ear-to-ear, wrapped in attention?

Then you look over to the left and three rows behind her, you see a man with his arms crossed, wearing a face of stone. It gets worse! You look over a few minutes later, and you see him rolling his eyes during your powerful points!

Who do you spend your time focusing on?

It Just Ain't Enough; Visualize This!

What is it that you want? Do you want to be an in-demand professional speaker? Maybe you just want to have more peace in your life?

There's one common mistake that people make when visualizing over and over...

Have you ever had to give a presentation in front of a really small audience? What thoughts went through your head? Were you disappointed? Did you give the performance like there was 1,000 people there?

    The Two T's to Impact!

Are you ever surprised by the reaction of your audience? Do you ever "experiment?" It can be incredibly valuable.

Effective public speakers have a strange sense of power in them that draws a crowd like a moth to the flame. People who are witness to their strength can't help but wonder what gives them such a commanding presence. How can they capture the awe and inspiration of the people? The answer lies in hypnotic persuasion techniques for public speakers.

    Public Speaking Dunkin' Donuts Style

Ever seen something that's just brilliant?

As you may know, I'm a huge fan of Dunkin' Donuts. If you were sitting next to me in my convertible, you would have felt the warm Vegas sun, smelled the fresh-brewed coffee, and heard me laugh out load as we pulled through and saw the sign that said, "See you tomorrow." Brilliant!

    No, It's Your Speech!

When you see an amazing speaker, do you take the time and effort to ask them for advice?

    Overcoming Fear

Fear has been correctly identified with the acrostic False Evidence Appearing Real.  The truth is that if we think something is to be feared, that perception becomes the cruelest form of reality...

When you give a presentation, what do people remember three days later?

Have you ever had a lot go wrong on the way to a presentation? And, then that leads to even more things going wrong? How did you handle it? Did it fluster you? Could people in the audience "sense" something was wrong based on your delivery?

Here's something to consider... What if the problem is the best thing that could have happened?

    "Don't Go... It's Too Dangerous!"

When I told people I was going to speak in Saudi Arabia with fellow World Champion Ed Tate, I got mixed reactions. Many people asked, "What!? Are you crazy? It's not safe!" Others just flat-out said, "Don't go... it's too dangerous!"

If you were on a coaching phone call with me last week with Champions' EDGE member, Chris Elliott, you would've heard him present a challenge to me...

This has been a week of intense learning for me. For years I used outlook express as my e-mail program, and then someone said to me that I should use outlook it’s so much better than outlook express, So I went and activated it, and I found that, yes, it is much better and for years this resource has been at my disposal I just didn’t use it. Isn’t that what’s so often happens, we have the resources at our disposal but we do not use them.

All three of these speakers are so different...get the World Champion Public Speaker views...

    Build a Company of Owners

“It’s one thing to create a culture that works,” says Dell. “It’s another to use that culture to create a measurable strategic advantage. You need to engender a sense of personal investment in all your employees, which comes down to three things: responsibility, accountability, and shared success.”

    Chase Your Dreams

“Somehow I can’t believe there are any heights that can’t be scaled by a man who knows the secret of making dreams come true,” Disney said. “This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C’s. They are Curiosity, Confidence, Courage, and Constancy and the greatest of these is Confidence.”

What he said just struck me. I just returned from giving a keynote speech to Manning Building Supply in Florida. I'm still thinking of what Kirby Manning -- the founder of the company -- said to me. It's a great life lesson, and an excellent business lesson for all of us...

    How to Make Money!

Considering the number of businesses and jobs available today, it is shocking to think that there are only three ways to make money in this world. M1, M2 & M3. How can that be? Only three? Yes only three. That is because all the ways we know how to make money fall into one of these three categories.
