Many people argue that stress is a normal part of working life.
Indeed, some people thrive in stressful situations and claim to perform better under pressure.
However, there is certainly a difference between the kind of pressures which gets your adrenaline flowing and give you the motivation and energy to achieve your goals, as distinct from the kind of prolonged or intense periods of stress which (if not managed properly) can have a serious impact on your productivity, effectiveness and mental health.
Many people think that because they work large numbers of hours they can claim to be the best workers in their industry. I disagree somewhat with this statement. Of course you do need to dedicate time to work. But at the end of the day it is the quality of work that people look at rather than the hours you have spent at it.
